Design of an AR visor for industrial use

 

We worked on the design of a wearable remote-control device designed to enhance the operational experience in inspection, maintenance, and training contexts. It offers operators an additional augmented reality view—always accessible, never intrusive. A solution that integrates into the field of vision without obstructing it, allowing users to consult digital information without losing contact with the real-world view.

Our design intervention stemmed from an in-depth analysis of user needs and the competitive landscape, resulting in a compact, lightweight (120 grams), and versatile device, easily mountable on universal helmets. The sliding rail mounting system simplifies installation, while the rubberized bottom grip ensures a firm and comfortable hold during positioning.

The interface has been reduced to the essentials: a single button and a notification LED for immediate and intuitive interaction. In stand-alone mode, the operator can access documents and checklists directly from the headset; in tethered mode, connection with Android devices enables advanced mirroring and real-time remote support functions.

Designed to integrate naturally into daily work, this tool combines ergonomics, ease of use, and high technology, making operations faster, safer, and more informative.
