Design and product development of a distribution / supply column for operating rooms and hospitals
Design of a new distribution column/arm model for operating rooms and hospitals that we created for Lm Medical, a family-owned company that has become a leading international medical device group over the years.
For this medical device design project, we started with an intensive benchmark analysis to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the client and its current production line.
We analytically analyzed competitors, solutions, and internationally filed patents.
During the research phase, numerous insights emerged that guided the team of designers and engineers in designing the new Lm Medical dispensing column line.
The opportunities that emerged in the research phase were:
– modern, cutting-edge design that would create a link with the previous product line
– improve performance
– improve the user experience
– optimize production
– optimize assembly
– reduce costs
– facilitate maintenance
Lm medical unveiled its new line of dispensing columns for hospitals for the first time during the Arab Healt 2023 exhibition in Dubai.
Presenting the new product line at Arab Health 2023 was another important goal for the client.
When we started working on this medical device design project we were all aware that it would not be easy to deliver the project by the deadline if the whole design and product development process did not follow a precise coordination.
We accepted the challenge, and thanks to the organization of our industrial design agency based on the proven LeanDesign® methodology, we achieved the goal.
